Grass-fed burger joint opening soon in Huntsville, Birmingham store to follow

Huntsville’s dining scene will welcome a grass fed burger joint next month at the new Shops at Merchants Walk anchored by Whole Foods.

Farm Burger, which uses locally-sourced, pasture-raised meats, will open a 2,300-square-foot Huntsville location in mid-February at 930 Bob Wallace Ave. It will be the Georgia company’s first store in Alabama, with a second to follow later this year in Birmingham.

The farm-to-table restaurant is also opening sites in Nashville and Asheville, N.C.

“As Farm Burger has grown outside Atlanta, we have focused on expanding to communities and regions with rich food and agriculture traditions, and we believe we have found that in Huntsville,” said Farm Burger co-founder George Frangos. “We’re thrilled to be part of the Huntsville community, to partner with farmers and producers in the area, and to meet new families, neighbors, and friends.”

Founded by Frangos and Jason Mann in 2010, Farm Burger builds relationships with local farms to provide high-quality produce, dairy and meat to customers. The company’s Farm Burger, topped with Vermont aged smoked white cheddar cheese, caramelized onions and a special house sauce, was featured in Food & Wine’s  “Best Burgers in the U.S.” list.

In addition to dry-aged, antibiotic- and hormone-free burgers, the eatery offers salads, fries, seasonal sides, milkshakes, beer and wine for lunch and dinner. Antibiotic-free chicken and veggie burgers will be available.

When the Huntsville restaurant opens, Farm Burger will operate seven stores in the U.S., including three in Georgia, one in North Carolina and two in California.
