Leaders Hope Whole Foods Project Will Infuse New Energy in Huntsville’s Commercial Core

HUNTSVILLE, Alabama – When Whole Foods Market announced last year it would open a high-end grocery store in Mobile, the company’s South Region President Omar Gaye immediately got an email from his colleague Betsy Foster, who is a Huntsville native.

 

Foster’s email simply said, “Mobile? Why not Huntsville?”

 

Foster, the global vice president of growth and business development for Whole Foods in Austin, Texas, had been a champion for a new Whole Foods grocery store in Huntsville for years. In February, her wish came true.
